The Madison Historical Society collects, preserves, and interprets the history of Madison, Ohio.
We are living in exciting times! History is not limited to what happened two, three, four hundred years ago – History is Now! Our daily lives are vastly different from that of our parents, our grandparents. Change is happening all around us, and what is new and exciting today will be our history tomorrow. Cherish the present, embrace the past, and look forward to tomorrow – We’re making History!
The mission of the Madison Historical Society is to preserve, advance and disseminate knowledge of the history and heritage of Madison. This is accomplished through historic preservation, education, and research and community outreach programming.
Madison Historical Society operates in what was originally built and opened as a Carnegie Library. The society provides a wide variety of services to the community, including school programs, special events, public programs and historical research.
